Entry requirements for EU, EFTA, and Nordic citizens

EU, EFTA, and Scandinavian citizens can enter Sweden freely to au pair. They need to provide a valid passport, show their interest in a Swedish language and culture, register in a Swedish language course, and give a copy of their signed au pair contract.

Entry requirements for non-EU citizens

Non-EU citizens must apply for a work permit before entering Sweden to au pair. They also need to provide a valid passport, show their interest in a Swedish language and culture, register in a Swedish language course, and give a copy of their signed au pair contract. Their visa is valid for 12 months.
