With the membership (self match), you can find your au pair yourself. You can chat unlimited with the different candidates, except for the ones reserved for Premium users.

• Self match: Yes, you can cancel your membership at any time. 
It will remain active until the end of the current billing period, and you will continue to have access to your profile and chats until then.
• The Matching Service can also be cancelled if you no longer need assistance for any reason, but it’s a successfee: We commit to finding your au pair and will share several rounds of candidates until we do.
• The Aftercare Package remains active for the full duration of your au pair’s stay with your family.

Au pairs in Ireland are generally entitled to access the public health system (HSE) if they are legally residing and working in the country. EU/EEA au pairs can also use their European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) for eligible treatments. However, as public waiting times can be lengthy, private health insurance is strongly recommended and is often arranged or covered by the host family as part of the au pair package.

Monthly basic expenses include
1. Au pair’s pocket money: €600 p/m
2. Food and accommodation: provided by host

As the au pair does not receive a high pocket money, it’s kind to help a bit with small extra. 
This is optional, but can help to find a great match as well
• Travel allowance: €75 p/m
• Phone plan: €25 p/m
• Gym membership: €40 p/m
• Museum card or cinema card: €30 p/m

The aftercare, contract and visa support package at €68 per month has thesame price as the self match Membership: it’s recommended to keep it running throughout your au pair term to avoid stress and allow your au pair access to the au pair community and support.

It’s optional, but Nina.care is an au pair Agency, meaning we cover not just the search of your au pair, but we are there for you during rematch, registration, visa and contract questions.

There is no specific legal rule in Ireland about who must pay for the au pair’s flights. We recommend that host families contribute to travel expenses, as the au pair exchange is a mutual cultural experience and the weekly allowance is limited. A contribution of around 50% of the flight cost is a common and appreciated arrangement. Some host families cover the full ticket, which is very generous, though we also feel it is positive for the au pair to contribute to the experience personally. All travel arrangements should be agreed and confirmed clearly before the stay begins.

The pocket money is paid directly by the host family to the au pair.

Once the au pair arrives in the host country, it is important that they open a local bank account so the monthly payments can be transferred easily. For candidates from the EU, it is often not necessary to open a local bank account.

There is always a small risk that a match does not work out as expected. To reduce this risk, our after care package includes an alignment meeting between the host family and the au pair before the start of the placement. During this meeting, important topics such as the start date, pocket money, vacation days, weekly schedule, and expectations are discussed to make sure everyone is on the same page.

If the match still does not work out, there is a transition period of 2–4 weeks during which both the host family and the au pair can look for a new match or decide on the next steps.

When Premium Matching Service families have an actie “Aftercare package” at moment of rematch, we will find them a new candidate without extra costs.
