Upfront Agency Costs

Agencies and IAPA-accredited organisations charge €150–€2,500 for matching and visa/registration help. Note: Belgian region rules can differ (Flanders/Wallonia/Brussels), which can affect paperwork costs. Families who recruit privately usually pay for paperwork and mandatory insurance registration.

Monthly Costs (≈ €550 average)

Belgium legally requires a minimum pocket money (institutional guidance sets a floor of about €450/month, with some regional increases reported; Wallonia has seen higher suggested minimums). Expect typical monthly pocket money with board to be €450–€750, depending on the region and hours worked.

Leah (23)

🇪🇸 Spain

Hi! I’m Leah, a 23-year-old from the beautiful Spain. I love calm mornings, long walks, and preparing healthy meals. With a background in psychology, I’ve always been interested in child development and supporting kids as they grow. Becoming an au pair is more than travel for me—it’s about forming real connections, offering stability, and creating a home away from home for the children I care for.

Maria (23)

🇧🇷 Brazil

Oi! My name is Maria, I’m 23 and from vibrant São Paulo. Life for me is about energy and connection. I love playing soccer, painting, and making music. I’ve helped care for my younger siblings and cousins for most of my life, and I know how to bring fun and responsibility together. I’m hoping to be part of a warm, open-minded family where we can learn from each other and share beautiful moments, big and small.

Emily (23)

🇩🇪 Germany

Growing up in the beautiful German city Hamburg, I developed a deep love for nature, creativity, and family traditions. I’m 23 and spend most of my free time painting, grabbing coffee with friends, or baking (my cinnamon rolls are a hit!). I want to become an au pair to experience a new culture in a meaningful way and support children in their everyday lives. I’d love to bring calm, creativity, and a bit of German sweetness to a home abroad.

Dinda (20)

Hello! I’m Dinda from Japan, 20 years old, and currently studying early childhood education. I love playing the piano, reading fantasy novels, and making origami. I’ve always felt a strong connection with children, and becoming an au pair is a way for me to combine my passion for childcare with my dream of living abroad. I’m especially excited to share Japanese traditions and learn new ones through daily life with a host family.

Selene (24)
