Hosting an au pair in Italy usually costs around €370 per month. This includes the required pocket money (set by agreement with the au pair), free room and board, and contributions to health/accident insurance if needed. Families may also support the au pair’s Italian language course.
An au pair in Italy mainly helps with childcare (school pick-ups, playing, babysitting, homework support) and light household duties (tidying children’s rooms, setting the table, simple meal preparation). Heavy cleaning, gardening, or caring for elderly relatives is not allowed.
